The expert meeting for the Day of Environmental Knowledge brought together 330 leaders of Ukraine

On April 14, an expert meeting was held for the Day of Environmental Knowledge. The event brought together 330 leaders of student self-government, eco-patrol officers, heads of school and extracurricular education.

During the event, they discussed the way and effective tools for promoting ecological knowledge, forming an ecological culture of the population, informing the public about the state of the environment, as well as educating and training a citizen who knows how to think ecologically.

The experts were the leader of the All-Ukrainian youth movement "Let's do it Ukraine", the founder of the International youth movement "School Recycling World", the coordinator of the international humanitarian project Let's do it Ukraine SOS Julia Marchel; executive director of the International Youth Movement "School Recycling World" in Ukraine in 2022 Oleksandr Mucha; coordinator in 2022 "VIII All-Ukrainian Forum of Interaction and Development", coordinator of all-Ukrainian programs of the International Youth Movement "School Recycling World" Daryna Skiba.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Mykhailo Horev, People's Deputy of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ecology and Nature Management Pavlo Bakunets, head of the Educational Center of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kostinyuk, coordinator of the work of the All-Ukrainian network of student self-government bodies Svetlana But. "Despite the war situation in Ukraine, issues of the environment and environmental literacy continue to worry the public. We must work together to increase the environmental literacy of the population and promote proper waste management. The Ministry conducts a significant part of educational campaigns. On the basis of the body, there are several institutions that are engaged in outreach work, such as the environmental academy, tourist and eco centers. The speakers raised the issues of environmental challenges of wartime, environmental safety, environmental literacy, and shared useful tips for environmentally conscious citizens. In particular, they talked about responsible consumption, economical use of resources, the benefits of reusable, reusable, "zero waste", digital cleaning.
