Rewarding of participants and finalists of the project took place on April 19, in the yard of the Nikolaev academic art Russian dramatic theater.
The project is aimed at increasing the level of environmental and environmental activities of student groups of secondary schools.
According Annie Ganjul, project manager of KU «Agency of development of Nikolaev», co-author of the project «School Recycling» in Nikolaev, winners can be called all participants of competition.

PepsiCo Ukraine Public Relations and Public Relations Manager Natalia Fesyun noted that in the Scandinavian countries 99% of waste is sorted, in European countries - 67%, in Ukraine - only 5% of all household waste.

“Our goal is to show that waste is a resource that can and should be recycled. In total the School Recycling project in the Nikolaev area covered 73 educational institutions, applications from 27 schools got to the semifinal. Teams and students of schools worked for 200 days to improve their results: created "eco-patrols", conducted informational and educational campaigns at the school to implement a system of proper waste management, worked with school staff and parents, gave lectures, organized thematic exhibitions and flash mobs, filmed social advertising and painted environmental posters, collected and handed over secondary raw materials for recycling, etc.
The best results were shown by secondary school № 32. The second place was taken by secondary school №45, the third place was taken by Mykolayiv gymnasium №4. All of them received diplomas, cups and cash certificates for the implementation of the environmental project in the school by the end of the year.

During the 200 days of the school year, the participating schools of the rating "ECO-SCHOOL OF THE YEAR 2019" collected more than 37 tons of plastic, waste paper and tetra-pack. The leaders of student self-government used the received resources for the benefit of their educational institutions.
We will note that Nikolaev - the first city of regional value where all schools passed to separate waste collection. The pilot project started in autumn 2016 and today continues to gain momentum - municipal medical institutions and kindergartens have joined the project.
