The package is not needed! Sew bags, change the world for the better and win prizes. All-Ukrainian project «Pouch» invites to be part of the movement to disseminate affordable environmental solutions. The goal is to form the habit of using reusable bags in the home. The general partner of the initiative is Pepsico, one of the largest producers of ready-to-eat products and beverages in Ukraine. 

WITH April 6, 2021 The international youth movement "School Recycling World" calls for sewing eco-bags for use in everyday life. Bags can become a daily useful habit in every family - an alternative packaging when buying goods.

Active citizens from all regions of Ukraine are invited to participate in the project. Participants will be part of the movement of environmentally responsible consumers.

Within the project will take place competition among students, schools and out-of-school educational institutions with individual and collective nominations. The main gift will be given to the school whose students sew the largest number of bags - a printer for sublimation printing.

"Be active, creative and environmentally responsible. Sew bags, use them in everyday life, share on social networks. It is possible that your bag will become a trend in the spring of 2021, which will be picked up by Ukrainians. " - comments the President of the International Youth Movement "School Recycling World" Julia Markhel.

The purpose of the competition is to spread the idea of abandoning plastic. A few hours or even minutes of using packages end in a hundred years at the landfill. According to Zero Waste Europe, the average time to use one package is 25 minutes, and it decomposes from 100 to 500 years, depending on the type. The average Ukrainian uses about 500 packages a year. If you count the population, then about 20 billion packages are thrown away per year. All of them rest in landfills, wander the streets of Ukraine alone, get into the body of animals or into drinking water.

Very soon the bags will be a full-fledged replacement for plastic bags. Recently, the Verkhovna Rada Committee supported the bill №2051-1 on their restriction, distribution will be punished by fines. Exceptions will be only packages used for meat, fish, bulk products. That is why the International Youth Movement "School Recycling World" advises to start the transition to eco-bags today.

Acceptance of collective applications from schools and out-of-school educational institutions, activities in social networks will last until May 7, 2021.

Such works will automatically participate in individual gift raffles.

The project is organized by the International Youth Movement "School Recycling World" with the assistance of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Center for Extracurricular Education, the National Ecological and Naturalistic Center and with the support of PepsiCo Ukraine.

It will be recalled that in 2020, the project participants sewed a total of 18,441 bags, which are still used in everyday life.
